MIGRATION TO UHWERUN The Agbon people lived in Irri for many years until fighting and quarrel broke out between Agbon and Isoko people on one side, and between Eku family and the rest three Agbon children families on the other side. As the four Agbon families could not reconcile their internal disagreement with the Isoko people, they decided to achieve peace by way of moving apart from Irri to other destination.Eku family that felt being oppressed by the other family brother hurriedly moved away to found a new place which Ughelli people called ''Ihwreku''meanin ''Eku village'',Ukori family moved to out in another direction to found a place at Uhwerun in Ughelli land. This place wa called Ukori but the Uhwerun people pronounced the name ''TOKORI'' which gained ground at that time. When kokori people left Isoko for Uhwerun, some of her sons and daughters who were married to Uhwerun prominent people, stayed behind and got themselves established there permanently. On march 14th 1954 when the author visited there in pursuit of facts to write this post,he met one Uwoma who was at one time,a labour headman of UAC at calabar.he met an old man of about 85 years. He told him that he relates to kokori as his grandfather was one of the kokori people who stayed behind when kokori people migrated to Isiokolo. He took the author to the part of Uhwerun area where kokori people stayed before their migration. He took him round to visit some other people there who confirmed that they materially or paternally belonged to Kokori. In fact, till the reccent time, say early in this century, when Ekrivie people where coming to attend and bringing along with them presents of cow, dried big fishes, drinks and kolanuts to participate in the occation.. Not long after,Okpara and Orhokpor families came to join them there in Uhwerun. But Eku family took a different direction to found a place in Ughelli which was named ''Ihwereku'' meaning ''Eku village''.The name of this place became very popular and overshadowing the whole Ughelli people.Till today, the second name of Ughelli is IHWREREKU.
