MIGRATION TO ASSEH This man called Agbon and his large family were among the Urhobo people who migrated from benin in the period 1460/1500 AD during the reign of Oba Ewuare Ogidigan.The exodus involved other tribes like Esan,Ijaw,Igbo,Ukwuani etc,and it was caused by the unbearable,punitive law made by the Oba.These tribes set off from benin at different times,one by one.The Ukwuani's were led by a man called Asseh and they were first to leave benin and moved southward a place in Ndokwa area which was named Asseh against their leader.The man,Agbon,took his sons and grand children out of benin and moving in the direction of Ukwuani people arrived at Asseh where they settled down to farming,fishing and hunting....
